Project “Financial Need”
In June 2015, the Gemeinnützige Stiftung der Deutschen Beteiligungs AG approved support for two projects. The projects are meant to assist two employees at current and former Deutsche Beteiligungs AG portfolio companies who find themselves in financial need due to illness and adverse personal circumstances.
Project 1
An employee at a current Deutsche Beteiligungs AG portfolio company will be unable to work for an extended period of time due to an acute neurological condition. He finds himself in financial need because of the resulting reduction in his income. He is also a single parent.
The Gemeinnützige Stiftung der Deutschen Beteiligungs AG is making up the difference between what the man receives in disability pay and his regular net income. The financial support will continue until he is able to return to work.
Project 2
A long-time employee of a former Deutsche Beteiligungs AG portfolio company finds himself in financial need because of an acute, incurable illness and because of the illness of his daughter. The man expressed the wish to see his granddaughter once more, who lives in the United States. Since he is helping to pay for his daughter’s stay in a nursing facility he cannot afford to fly to the United States.
The Gemeinnützige Stiftung der Deutschen Beteiligungs AG is therefore covering the cost of a ticket that will allow the man’s granddaughter to fly to Germany from the United States.
