Project “Die Arche”
Child poverty is a serious challenge for our society. It severely limits the educational opportunities and thus also the future prospects of the children affected. “Die Arche” is countering this disadvantage with the motto “Making children strong”: healthy meals, homework help, and play and sports activities, for example.
At “Die Arche”, children and young people learn that food and table fellowship belong together. Volunteers and staff at Die Arche are on hand to help with homework and thus promote academic progress.
In addition to homework supervision and learning support, “Die Arche” also wants children and young people to be able to simply play and have fun. Board games, table soccer, listening to music, chilling out — the range of activities on offer is diverse.
What is important to us is that, through intensive care and emotional security, the children at “Die Arche” are given a sense of self-worth that many of them lack. This self-esteem is essential for opening up prospects for their own future. Only in this way can the children realize their full potential and become part of our society.
There are three “Archen” in socially disadvantaged neighborhoods in Frankfurt/Main. Around 650 children and young people are cared for there every day. The facilities are mainly financed by donations.
The charitable foundation of Deutsche Beteiligungs AG first supported Frankfurter Archen in 2015 and did so again in 2025.
